FATSTAF began as a Third Party Service arm of OnlineSMART (School Management and Record Tracking) in 2008. In 2015, SMART sold the Servicing arm to Catherine Ivie and FATSTAF was born. Catherine successfully grew the business through providing customized services to schools. Very few Servicers provide full awarding to schools, and that is one of the things that FATSTAF specializes in. With a full team of very knowledgeable Financial Aid Administrators, FATSTAF has continued to grow.
In 2020, Catherine shared with Renee Schultz at the US Department of Education that she would be retiring and selling the business. After much thought and consideration, Renee decided to leave the Department and purchase FATSTAF. In December 2020, the deal closed in the middle of the pandemic and Renee left the Department in January 2021.
FATSTAF is growing at an amazing rate thanks to word of mouth from our clients. We work very hard to provide every one of our clients the absolute best service directly with their own assigned FA Administrator. You are not a number to FATSTAF- you are treated like an important client. Customer Service is what FATSTAF is based on.
